This is a translation of the Italian text. In case of any discrepancy, the Italian version prevails.
In short: we always use three technical cookies: the one that keeps you signed in, the one that remembers your language and the one that remembers your cookie choice. Only if you accept them in the banner do we also use marketing cookies from Meta (Meta Pixel) and Google (Google Ads tag), to find out how many visits, sign-ups and purchases come from our ads on Facebook, Instagram and Google. Until you choose, and if you choose “Only necessary”, your browser contacts neither Meta nor Google. You can change your mind at any time from “Cookie preferences” at the bottom of every page or from the Account page.
They make the site work and don't require consent.
| Name | What it's for | Duration |
|---|---|---|
mcl_session | Keeps you signed in after you sign in and protects the Google sign-in. Before you sign in, if you came from one of our ads, it also carries the campaign's name (see the privacy page). It's signed (it can't be tampered with), it can't be read by the page's scripts and it travels only over a secure connection. | 30 days, or until you sign out; before you sign in, until you close the browser |
mcl_lang | Remembers the language you chose with the IT/EN button (Italian or English). It's created only if you use the button. | 1 year |
mcl_consenso | Remembers whether you accepted or refused marketing cookies, so we don't ask you on every page. Since 4 November 2026 marketing cookies also include Google: if you chose before, you'll see the banner once more. | 6 months |
If you choose “Accept all”, or turn on “Marketing” in the preferences, we load the Meta Pixel of Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. The pixel tells Meta which MovieCineLab pages you open and when you sign up, start a purchase, buy a pack of minutes (with the amount) or add your first film. It's used to measure our ads and to show them to people who might be interested.
We don't send Meta your name, your email, the titles of your films or their content: we remove the film's title from page addresses before every send, and the pixel doesn't read buttons or forms. Meta still receives the data that the browser sends to every site (IP address, browser and device type) and may link it to your Facebook or Instagram account, if you have one.
| Name | Whose | What it's for | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_fbp | Meta | Recognises the browser from one visit to the next, to link visits and purchases to ads. | 90 days |
_fbc | Meta | Created only if you arrive from an ad on Facebook or Instagram: remembers which one. | 90 days |
For this data MovieCineLab and Meta are joint controllers of the collection and transmission to Meta (under Meta's joint controller addendum); what Meta does with the data afterwards is decided by Meta, as controller, under its privacy policy. Meta may transfer the data to the United States, on the basis of the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Art. 122 of the Italian Privacy Code), which you can withdraw at any time: withdrawal doesn't affect what was done before.
With the same consent we also load the Google Ads tag (gtag.js) of Google Ireland Ltd. It tells Google that you opened MovieCineLab and, only once, when you create a new account: it's used to find out how many sign-ups come from our ads on Google. If you arrived from an ad on Google, the address carries a click code (gclid, or gbraid/wbraid) that the tag uses to link the sign-up to that ad; while you sign in with Google we keep it in the session cookie for a few seconds (see the privacy page).
Before your choice the tag isn't loaded and your browser doesn't contact Google; we use Google's “consent mode” with everything denied until you accept. When you accept we let Google use cookies to measure ads, not for personalised advertising (which stays denied), and we don't turn on Google Signals. We don't send Google your name, your email, the titles of your films or their content: the page's address and title are cleaned before every send, as for Meta. Google still receives the data that the browser sends to every site (IP address, browser and device type) and may link it to your Google account, if you have one.
| Name | Whose | What it's for | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_gcl_au | Recognises the browser from one visit to the next, to link sign-ups to ads. | 90 days | |
_gcl_aw | Created only if you arrive from an ad on Google: remembers which one (the gclid code). | 90 days |
Google may also use cookies on its own domains (for example on doubleclick.net), under its own rules. Google processes the data it receives as an independent controller, under the Google Ads controller-controller data protection terms and its privacy policy (how Google uses data from its partners' sites). Google may transfer the data to the United States, on the basis of the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Art. 122 of the Italian Privacy Code), which you can withdraw at any time.
The page remembers in the browser (local storage, not a cookie) only whether you prefer to see your films as cards or as a list: mcl_vista. It doesn't leave your device and you can delete it from your browser settings.
When you choose to sign in with Google or to pay, you go for a few moments to Google's or Stripe's pages, which use their own cookies under their own rules (Google, Stripe). The rest of our pages' content is on our server, fonts included: apart from the Meta Pixel and the Google Ads tag, if you accept them, when you open MovieCineLab your browser doesn't contact other sites.
To accept or refuse marketing cookies use Cookie preferences, at the bottom of every page and on the Account page. If you refuse them after accepting, the pixel and the Google Ads tag stop sending data immediately and we remove the _fbp, _fbc and _gcl_* cookies. You can also delete cookies from your browser settings. If you delete mcl_session you are signed out of your account: to get back in, just sign in again. If you delete mcl_lang, the site goes back to choosing the language from your browser. If you delete mcl_consenso, we'll ask for your cookie choice again on your next visit.
For questions write to contatti@moviecinelab.com. The controller is named in the privacy policy.
