Anyone who grew up with Russian-language videotapes knows «закадровый перевод», off-screen translation: one voice, sometimes two, reading the lines on top of the original audio, with the actors still audible underneath. On television it long remained the norm, while big films reach cinemas fully dubbed. MovieCineLab does real dubbing: the original voices disappear and every character speaks Russian in a voice of their own.
Listen: Charade in Russian

Lines exactly as they came out of the automatic dubbing of the example films, untouched.
Russian can be very compact, and syllable fitting makes use of it. «Because I already know an awful lot of people» becomes «Я знаю многих»: three words, the same meaning, a line that fits comfortably in the actress's timing. The translation chooses between «ты» and «вы» by looking at who is speaking to whom, and names stay as they are in the film, written in Cyrillic: Сильви, Барбара.
